CLAIRE MAHONEY
Claire is a composer of things currently finishing her BFA in Dunedin, the southern-most city of New Zealand. Over the last week she has been stitching ceramic sequins onto woollen jumpers.
Last week Claire found an immaculate young gentleman’s 1930s black taylored dinner suit from the “Butterflies” op-shop next door. Tonight she is wearing this with the pant legs rolled up to the knees revealing burgundy tights. Claire is wearing 1940s black suede “Red cross” lace-ups with ‘just-so’ cuban heels. The dinner jacket is worn over a 1920s black peach-skin jacket with a velvety floral pattern over a 1940s black crepe blouse from the local dump. Claire’s short auburn hair, echoing the colour of her tights, is parted with a curby grip. The ensemble is completed with eyeliner a touch of dark red lipstick.
